She is awesome, but I'm definitely not a Symphonic Metal person.
I love it!! My daughter was in band and I loved their symphonic versions of songs.

Tarja Turunen from Nightwish & Solo. Amazing vocals.

Marko Hietala from Nightwish & Tarot & Northern Kings. Bassist & vocalist…amazing vocals.

@dr wu You need to dabble into the realm of symphonic metal. Put on some headphones and let the music carry you away….give the album “Once” a listen.
Giving 'Once' a listen right now.....will get back to you after reading a bit more on the band.

Cool. What did she play?
My daughter plays flute, bass flute, and piccolo. The bass flute is a neat instrument. She can do blast beats (beatboxing) with it, which is really cool. Not too many YT videos but here’s one similar to what my daughter can do…

BTW…those instruments are flippin expensive.

I listened to 'Once' and 'Wishmaster' and a newer one called 'Endless Forms'.....the style is a bit too 'metalish' for me at times but still accessible with melody and good vocals. I dont care for 'chugga chugga' guitar but was nice when the guitarist did regular chords and lead guitar.
Turunen seems to be a fan favorite and she has a really nice voice ,but I thought Jansen sounded more appropriate on Forms as she was able to belt it out when needed and sounds more like a rock singer in a prog metal band.. Some of the early 'operatic' vocals by Turunen (as good as they are) and background symph strings, etc...while lovely... sort of got in the way of the prog rock at times to my ears.
I 'm a fan of Christina Booth in Magenta and Haslam from Renaissance, as well as others both old and new.
I'm going to listen to the other newer ones by Nightwish.....Imaginaerum, HUman /Nature, and Yesterwynde to get a better picture.
