FAITH AND THE MUSE are an American gothic/darkwave based round singer Monica Richards and ex CHRISTIAN DEATH guitarist William Faith.Formed 1993. Their music often covers other genres like Celtic folk/dark alternative....with instruments like electric violin and cello used.
I have seen this colorful band "live" at the MERA LUNA Festival in Germany and they blew me away .and I highly recommend them. They do at times remind me of legendary British goth band SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES and that cant be a bad thing !
Album wise they are very strong...just a couple more to get for the collection. I hope people at CRF have an open mind to give them a good listen

L/R, there isn't anything about Goth I'm into but I thought I'd give your stuff a try. I enjoyed Elyria much more than Battle Hymn, but I have to say my favorite part was the beginning, without any chanting/lyrics. Then again, the lyrics might have fit in a different style of music. Not sure~~

Wow, i agree with Laurel in that Elyria is definitely the standout song here! It's just so enchanting and keeps you in a relaxing trance throughout! If they have more songs like that I'd like to hear them!

......Heres FAITH AND THE MUSE doing a fine job on a DEAD CAN DANCE tribute album . Ive also included my favorite track "Sredni Vashtar" which is more gothic rock. I love the tribal drum sounds on some of their tracks [....very dramatic "live" ]

Great music LOU! I love the drums in both songs, they create a massive rythym for the rest of the music. Ethereal is always good and I like the dark undertones as well, good stuff!

Good to see b.o.b here and Sal....I was hoping you might like FAITH AND THE MUSE, who draw influences from early Dead Can Dance. Monicas a great singer but not yet in Lisa Gerrards league.
I do like their dramatic gothic approach, . ...the song "cantus" would be ideal for an Exorcist/Omen type film !



Heres one for Tray....a cover of Kate Bushs song "running up that hill" which a few other bands have tried aswell. Love the PLACEBO cover...

Really like their cover of Kate's song Lou! I've listened to the other songs too, very atmospheric music! Battle Him really reminds me of Siouxsie and the Banshees! In Dreams of Mine, Fade and Remain and Sredni Vashtar are my favourites out of these. Cantus, you're right it would fit right in on an Omen-type film - cool stuff
