Ernest Ellis is a young Australian singer/songwriter who has recently released his debut album, Hunting:

Hunting is an enthralling mix of ethereal echoing folk rock and solemnly beautiful melodies, with some catchy hooks and electronic warps thrown in. It was written over two months while Ernest was staying in a remote cabin in the famous Blue Mountains surrounding Sydney.

Although from listening you'd never tell, Ernest draws on many challenging lyrical themes throughout the album, and although it's subtle, there is a depth to his music that expresses them. I have been astounded by this man's musical skill and execution, and look forward to hearing much much more from him. But for now, here are the first two tracks from Hunting:

Sal I relistened to the first single again as I liked it the first time you had me hear it! I like it even better now! The second track "Heading For The Cold Reminds" me musically of the stuff off of Kings of Leons "Only By The Night" with it's big sound. I like that one quite a bit!

Loveless is one of my three favourite songs from the album, and my absolute favourite is Dark Matter.
