Stars & Midnight Blue
I usually go in order, but after Watermark I became a fan so I backtracked and bought her self titled debut released in 1986. Kind of an austere cover but the music made up for that and then some. If my old gray cells are still functioning properly I am pretty sure this was the first Enya CD I ever heard, over at a buddies house after he upgraded his stereo and bought his 2nd CD player and a subwoofer. But that memory is soaked in a haze of many beers and flaming sambuca's so I can't be absolutely sure...
This one still gives me chills. Eerie and Epic!!
Great choice MP.
When I play Enya, I dim the lights and usually end up with my eyes closed drifting in another place that she takes me to...one of those Mystical kind of musical voyages that only a few artists have that profound of an effect on me.
Yup and how much effect and influence do you think she had on the whole symphonic metal genre...bands like Nightwish ect. I think there's a bit there.
I agree she had an enormous effect on many other artists, even outside of her own genre.
Love the opening/title track to A Day Without Rain
My favourite female singer, very very underrated
I, for some reason, really enjoy this song:
apart from that, I need to get back into Enya, its been far too long since I last listened to her!
^^^ That's released on her new "best of" CD...the deluxe with the DVD has ALL her music videos as well in 5.1
