ELP debut vs. Genesis Trespass

These two prog bands released these early albums only weeks apart, so I'm sure some comparison was made by listeners back then.

What do you think 40+ years later? Emerson, Lake, & Palmer's debut, or Trespass by Genesis?

Trespass, by Genesis.

I do like both albums, but 40+ years on, I can compare them on an even playing field for what they are: two early prog albums.

Trespass, to me, is a more consistant effort. It's a nice listen, from beginning to end, whereas ELP's album feels more... disjointed. I esp don't like the whole pipe organ passages in The Three Fates.
