Never noticed the ELO thread....I still have the first 4 lps....On the Third Day is probably my favorite though Eldorado is nice....and love the 'Move' influences of course on the first 2.
I play Shazam, Looking On ,and Message From Country more than ELO these days when I want to hear that sound...I like the old psych/prog feel of the later Move lps more than the radio pop of the later ELO lps.
I once had Face, Record, and Blue by ELO but I tired quickly of the pop feel to those and sold them years ago. Lynne always wanted to be the Beatles and formed his songs that way.
He wrote 'Do Ya' with the Move and it pissed off Roy Wood becuase the record co liked it more than Wood's singles. Lynne wanted pop radio hits according to Roy who wanted to remain quirky so after ELO first lp Lynne took over and Wood left. I thought they made a good team.....would have liked to hear more lps with the two of them.
