Double Dragon
101209-doubledragon.jpg

Double Dragon are a heavy metal band from Adelaide, Australia (see, we are on the map ;) ). Their name is a homage to the 1980s cult video game Double Dragon. Double Dragon's musical style is heavy metal, but has also been described as melodic death metal or metalcore, featuring twin guitar harmonies, prominent lead guitar solos, and clean and screamed vocals.

Double Dragon originally formed in 2002 when upon the demise of his previous band Screwface:13, guitarist Matthew 'Roady' Johnston decided to create a new project that focused more on melody than the down tuned style of 90's nu metal.

Double Dragon are heavily influenced by New Wave of British Heavy Metal acts like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden, thrash metal bands such as Slayer and Pantera, alternative acts like Faith No More and Mr Bungle

Band Members:
Lee Gardiner - Vocals
Matthew Johnston - Guitar

Any band named after one of my all-time favorite video games definitely warrants a thread. :D

Always enjoy a visit down-under to check on new bands, or old ones I missed.

I'll sniff around myself and see what I can find Harkat.

Hmm. It's not bad. I really like the vocals. I'll see if I can find some more stuff from these guys. Seems like a band I can really enjoy.
