I really like the new album, I am 3 quarters way through it and it is excellent, it will get better with more listens I am sure. Great work from the band, sounds modern with that classic edge

Same way I feel about the album. Never gets boring at all and is something any DP fan should check out.I still haven't changed my opinion of it - I keep coming back to it and have no hint of growing tired of it. It's a really fresh album and well mixed.
One of my favourite tracks is "It'll Be Me", which I often play standalone, when I don't have time to listen to the whole album. I always loved the RnR classics that used to appear in the encores, either in their entirety or as part of a medley - half the fun was trying to work out what they were, from just a few lines (I never did get them all every time). I'm sure that on many occasions it was IG that led the band into some of his favourites and RB & JL were always consummately professional enough to be able to play along.
I think it was on the "House of Blue Light" tour that IG did a couple of verses of "Running Bear" during the medley, which was a particular favourite.
I wouldn't object if Purple did a whole album of rock 'n roll standards, with their own twist!
