Tough one:

1.Frank Zappa- Valley Girl (technically his only "hit" so I don't see why this shouldn't count)
David Essex-Rock on (his only hit in the US)
Thomas Dolby-She blinded me with science
Edison Lighthouse-Love grows
5.Sugarloaf-Green Eyed Lady
Mason Williams-Classical Gas
Strawberry Alarmclock-Insense Peppermints
Status Quo-Pictures of Matchstick Men (their only US hit)
Dexy's Midnight Runners-Come on Eileen
10.The Knack-My Sharona
Men without Hats-The safety Dance
The Buggles-Video killed the radio star
Chumbawumba-Tubthumping
Mountain-Mississipi Queen
15.Focus-Hocus Pocus

I meant to include Soft Cell's "tainted love" but for some reason left it off. TOo bad it's only fifteen and not twenty. Oh well. I missed a few others too. Of course it depends on what country you live in. Someone on here included Golden Earring's "radar love" but that was a hit in the US and one of my favorite 80's songs.

^^Twilight Zone was a hit in Canada for Golden Earring as well, so I never considered them a one hit wonder, and I'm sure they had a few more hit songs overseas than they did here.

Golden Earring had two songs that could have been considered major hits in the US. Radar Love (1973 - #10 on the charts) and Twilight Zone (1982 - #18 on the charts). Both still get a fair amount of play on classic rock radio in the US. I have no idea how well they did in the UK, but I do I know they were pretty big in the Netherlands.

This is an elite club. The one hit per decade club.

Bonnie Tyler is in it. It's a Heartache in the 70s, and Total Eclipse of the Heart in the 80s.

And an even MORE elite club would be Donnie Iris, in a category all unto himself. The guy is a one-hit wonder, three times.

1) The Jaggerz - The Rapper (1970)
2) Wild Cherry - Play That Funky Music (1976)
3) Donnie Iris (solo) - Ah! Leah (1980 (or 81))

;)
