Cozy Powell is probably the single most underappreciated/underrated by the public drummer ever. Cozy has played for these bands among others:

Official Site

Jeff Beck Group
Rainbow
Whitesnake
Emerson, Lake & Powell
Black Sabbath

Cozy was also considered as a possible replacement for John Bonham by the surviving members of Led Zeppelin prior to their decision to just disband.

'Nuff said.

Cozy was a fantastic drummer I saw him with Peter Green's Splinter Group and he was awesome, Neil Murray was on bass and they were rock solid.

My memory must be going, I didn't realize how many great bands Cozy played with over his career.

Much like Aynsley Dunbar. You look back on the career of a journeyman drummer only to realize he drummed for the likes of David Bowie, Journey and Whitesnake among a much longer list of artists.

Back to Powell... as per drummerworld.com:

Cozy was one of my favorite drummers .His work on the early Rainbow recordings was amazing. His contributions to Black Sabbath and MSG are also favorites of mine .An outstanding drummer who died too soon.

I have a ton of respect for Cozy......he picked up his name "Cozy" from a drummer of the big band era Cozy Cole, who was a smoker of a drummer.
