Colin Hay is a Scottish-Australian musician, who made his mark during the 1980s as lead vocalist of the Australian band Men at Work, and later as a solo artist.

He writes some great songs and is also an accomplished acoustic guitar player.

Re: Colin Hay

I always liked Men at Work, in particular Colin's voice. It is very unique, and while that doesn't always mean a good thing, in this case it does. Glad to see he is still putting out material.

Re: Colin Hay

Another great thread, Sunny :grinthumb

I like his Man @ Work album (reinterpreting Men At Work classics with himself and an acoustic guitar)

I love this version of Overkill. I first heard it on Scrubs (by accident....I never really watched the show - serendipity?) and liked it immediately. I'm a sucker for acoustic remakes.

I wasn't a big fan of Men At Work. That said, I must admit to my issues with many/most artists from the 80's. It's a long story, but suffice it to say that I've gotten the hell over it and in recent years I've REALLY come to appreciate much of the music that I once despised. Men At Work included.

While searching for the acoustic version of Overkill to buy, I also discovered Waiting For My Real Life To Begin, posted by Sunny. The lyrics of that one hit home and have helped to make me a latter day fan of Colin Hay and his "co-workers."

^^^^^ Yes Travelin' Man, I think Waiting For My Real Life To Begin is a lovely song - a lot of Colin's songs are but that one is my favourite :)
