You guys should familiarize yourselves more with Parachutes. There's some really great material on it. For instance, "Trouble" is my personal favorite from it, and the video is really cool! I always found it to be the most unique song from the album.
Trouble
And "Sparks"... you may recognize this song if you've ever seen the movie "Wedding Crashers".
Sparks
If you want to get into something with a similar sound and feel to it, their second album is the way to go IMO. Everything after that is experimental territory for them, more upbeat with some electronic elements mixed in as opposed to their piano-driven stuff and the early ballads they had come to be known for and that had, unfortunately, labeled them as a sappy bore to those who dislike them. Here's some of the better known songs from AROBTTH...
In My Place
The Scientist probably the most highly revered from the album
Everything in between on those two albums is great IMO, however I think those who are new to Coldplay find those songs to be the easiest to get into. If you guys want some more recommendations from those two or their albums after it I'll be more than happy to oblige. I have been obsessed with this band for over a decade now and have never been afraid to admit it but can easily see why they're not everyones cup of tea. I'd say they're up there alongside Muse and Radiohead as some of the more... polarizing bands of the last 20 years, but Muse has a lot more energy, at least up until their last album which is why I think fans hated Resistance, much like Coldplay fans who seemed to not be able to identify with their later, more upbeat and poppy stuff starting with X&Y (which I absolutely count as one of my favorite albums by the way).
