I never liked Go On Take the Money and Run - Steve Miller. I just never liked it. Don't know exactly why but I never liked the song.
One of the top ten suckiest songs of all time. He ripped the riff from "Sweet Home Alabama" and wrote moronic lyrics. It's songs like this that make me wonder why I never made it as a songwriter.

Did you ever try rippin' off someone else's riffs and writing moronic lyrics?

No. I had plenty of moronic ideas on my own. :irish:

I think that could be a thread in itself, songs that are great but you don't want to hear because classic rock radio has played the shit out them. There is a station here that is doing an "A to Z" of their music library. They are playing a lot of songs that you don't hear much and would be great alternaties to the beaten to death classics. The only downside is that they play the shortest possible version of some songs (the live version of Cortez the Killer, and Europa), while playing every version of a song like Cocaine. But anyway, the larger point is, this seems to be a popular feature for this station, why don't they get the clue and shake up the playlist a bit.

Anyway, now that I have strayed off topic, I will give some songs I just despise.........

The Hey Song(from football games) - Gary Glitter
Rock and Roll - Dave Essex
Logical Song - Supertramp
American Band - Grand Funk
Love in an Elevator, Dude Looks Like a Lady - Aerosmith
Innagodivida - Iron Butterfly
Emotional Rescue - Stones

I find Maxwell's Silver Hammer and Octopus' Garden totally unlistenable.

Agreed! Well, on Maxwell. I thought Octopus' Garden was cute.

born to run, da bruce... overblown, overdone.

hey you, BTO... it is possible i hate this song cuz i was puking my guts out when i first heard it. (stole the ma's peach brandy when i was a yute. i thought i was gonna die.) possible. or it could just suck all on its own.

turn the page... regional radio stations have their own sick lil playing habits. when i lived in south carolina, the local station played this song 5,982 times a day. who knows why. even to this day, when i hear the opening notes, i start screaming hysterically.

radioactive, the firm... you would've thought that i, kath, being a jimmy page fan AND a paul rodgers fan, would've loved this band. um, nope. this song has the single most annoying guitar riff in human history.

fame, david bowie... i love bowie as a general rule. i probably have a dozen albums of his. however, i hate this song, just hate it... with a passion.

three dog night, the show must go on... even when i was nine, even with my wee spawnly crush on that lead singer dude, chuck whatshisface... this song made me nauseous.

the crunge, led zep... i literally run at full speed to hit the next button on the player when this song comes on.

benny the bouncer, ELP... sure, some people think this song is whimsical and fun. i think it comes close to ruining a masterpiece of an album. kinda like what mark twain said about golf... it gets in the way of a good walk.

in one of the worst covers ever department~~bowie and mick, dancin in the street. i'm sure i can come up with more of these once i get over thinkin about this particular waste of oxygen.

mother, the police... why did they hafta let andy write one? yet another album-killer-in-waiting.

i think that's enough for now. i'm gonna ruin my appetite.

kath
actually, nothing ruins my appetite, really.
