A little battle between a couple of bands that many fans feel should be in the RnR Hall of Fame, but induction seems to elude both (as well as many other well deserving bands). Both debut albums were self-titled and came out within a couple of weeks of each other. Both bands have stood the test of time with KISS having put out 19 studio albums (not including the 4 solo albums) and Rush putting out 18.

Please vote for the ALBUM you like more, as opposed to which BAND you like more (if that's possible).

KISS (1974)

I didn't want to take the wimpy "both" option, but the decision was tough. KISS debut wins my vote but overall I like Rush (the band) better :D

I don't really like taking the "both" vote as I'm always up for the challenge and what a challenge it is. Now most of us know that I'm a huge RUSH fan and a KISS fan as well.

Man......we all know RUSH are the superior musicians here, but we are dealing with two great groups with two different styles and two bands that respect each other....uggghh...

Gonna have to go with KISS...as I think it was a bit stronger song for song...but this was one of the hardest one on one album polls in a while.

I don't typically take the 'both' option, but I do enjoy having the option. I've been putting it on my polls lately after a couple of others started doing it. It is nice when you end up with two albums or songs that you truly enjoy and can't choose one over the other.

For me, this isn't close. I'll take this KISS album over many many other great debut albums. It's near and dear to my heart and I listen to it quite often. Rush does have a good debut here which includes my all-time favorite Rush tune in the last track, Working Man. Similarly, my all-time favorite KISS track is also the last tune on the album, Black Diamond.

Looking at the Kiss album, it's amazing that 37 years after this album came out, they still play at least 6 of the songs on this album in concert.

As I said in an earlier poll, I do not like the both option. Polls are about making your choice, so make it!!

This one is for Kiss, but that's the only one that will win it in any future polls against Rush. I like Kiss first 3 albums. After that it all went downhill fast.

The Kiss debut album easily - never got into Rush.

The Kiss debut is one of their best albums, maybe even their best studio album...

70's Rock & Roll at it's best....EXCELLENT album. :grinthumb

Absolutely love them both. Just listened to the Rush record Sunday morning and woke everyone in the house up. Forgot how much I liked that record. Before and After is a great song and an early example of Rush's musical dynamics.
