CHICAGO READY FOR NUMBER 36:
Classic American pop/rock band Chicago have announced details and audio previews of their new studio release XXXVI. The official release details will be announced shortly. But from the band's bio:

"In the wild west of the 21st century endeavor of making music, Chicago "NOW" is a new frontier for the iconic “rock band with horns”. Putting aside an awesome accumulation of honors, awards, accomplishments, numbers and peer respect, this remarkable group of talented musicians continues to make history with a new recording process geared towards musical excellence, doing the business of music "NOW", while reckoning with the logistical realities of a world-wide touring band. Chicago, with Lee Loughnane spearheading, has customized a new recording system (dubbed "the Rig") that is flexible, powerful, portable, and always travels with the band. "NOW" was performed across a number of locations (mostly hotel rooms), including Nashville, Cleveland, Toledo, New Jersey, Spokane, and many other points across the globe.

In this new collaboration, each of the band's songwriters becomes the "supervising producer” for their compositions. Hank Linderman, musician, and long-time studio engineer for Timothy B. Schmit (Eagles), Don Henley, America, and Robert Lamm, as well as other successful artists, is the "coordinating producer." Hank catalogs the multitude of audio takes and files, bringing logistical and production musicality to a complex procedure. With much effort a private online collaboration portal was created to allow performances to be worked on, around the clock, from remote locations. Chicago has crafted band performances, in sync, with the songwriter, and is already working on their next collection of music!
Tracklisting: Now, More Will Be Revealed, America, Crazy Happy, Free At Last, Love Lives On, Something's Coming, I Know, Watching All The Colors, Nice Girl, Naked In The Garden Of Allah, Another Trippy Day.

That's a really interesting new technology we'll see if it catches on.

36 albums that is a lot of music if it means this is their XXXVI release that is.

^ In the WB (and later) era, all the collections/live albums counted in the numbering scheme (and that's a lot of albums), not to mention 3 albums in the CBS era.

Something's Coming I Know is a really good song, I purchased the single, and More Today That Yesterday seems to be missing from this release.

America is a repetitive song I didn't like too much.

I'm really not that stoked about another album unless they get all the surviving original members back together.

Another new track. A really great song, it sounds a little like the late 70's era stuff. The horns are front & center.

Totally nothing against Jason, but when I hear this progression back towards the classic sound and a song like this in particular, I really miss Peter on vocals.

This would have been his kinda song to sing.

Still a really great track. And it's great they have a full time percussionist too. Very early era for them.

It sounds like Bobby is trying to do the edgier, blusey vocals that Bill used to do.

I wonder why Bill Champlin left? All it says is he left to pursue a solo career. I wonder if there is more to it. He was with Chicago a long time.

I miss Peter too. :( I always thought of him and Bob has kind of like Lennon and McCartney, when it came to writing songs together.

Sounds pretty good. Great to see them going back to there 70's a bit. They went a little to crazy with the slick ballads in the 80's(though I like a few of those).
