What makes me really sad is that I did not get into the Captain until after he passed away.

Oh well at least his legacy will live on and I'm sure that the Captain and Zappa are playing beautiful music up in the heavens.

It's just nice you really enjoy his music, I am sure he would be happy to know we are talking about him right now.

So I've listened to all of Safe as Milk and... WOW! Just WOW! It's such an incredible record that it's hard to put into words. It is now officially on my list of favorite albums.

I also got The Spotlight Kid and Clear Spot just recently. I still have yet to give those two a listen in its entirety.

Somebody mentioned Don's other collaborations with Frank Zappa. I have to say that no Beefheart education is complete without hearing his contributions to Zappa's Bongo Fury album.





BTW I'm the guy whose wife says he looks like Don. I'm flattered, hon.

Together with Frank Zappa I listened to a lot of Captain Beefheart lately. He made some beautiful music and is not talked about enough.
