I liked them right up to Joshua Tree, after that I lost track of them. I am on record as saying early U2 is the best, they had that energy and enthusiasm and drive that seemed to change into a more comfortable rock star persona the last few years. Still I don't think they deserve the stick they get from many people, sometimes when you are Too successful that is the end result.

Back to Bono, at least his procedure is for something that can be fixed, with a little rest and the right therapy I am positive he will be back on stage in two or three months.

Well in the early 80's YES U2 was the band ...I remember thinking how unique and exciting they were..I was quickly moving away fro hairband music and taking lyrics more seriously

I suppose they appeal to the thinking band era...
I like alot of the 90's things but as I got older...all the preachy stuff was getting bit tired..

the stuff submitted in past few years kinda feels thin...sometimes (NO disrespect Bono) I feel bored

So to answer the Original question...Yeah Ez once they were the kings..I do still consider them rockers...

I do not think this is the appropriate thread to trash U2. I think we have had enough of that already.

I wish Bono a speedy recovery and I hope that he does not have long lasting back trouble like so many do after such things.
