As some of you know, Dylan re-cut 5 of the tracks recorded in New York in Minnesota with another band that would show up on BOTT. Tangled Up In Blue and Idiot Wind have always been perhaps the most celebrated tracks on the album, but am I alone in my opinion that their Minnesota versions that made the album pale in comparison to their New York counterparts? Personally, I was shocked to see which tracks were recorded in New York and Minnesota on the album, because all 5 that were recorded in New York were my favorites prior to learning where they were recorded. However, the New York versions of Idiot Wind, and Tangled Up In Blue especially, blew me away. The other 3 I preferred as well, all of them just convey so much more emotion, and it seems as if that's the way they were meant to be made.
