Earlier in the week, I was listening to both of these two Heaven & Hell albums while working out at the gym:

The Devil You Know (2009)

And Live From Radio City Music Hall (2010)

Both are fantastic.

Riff, I'm sure you'd like it. It's certainly not a "classic" album and I doubt it ever will be considered as such, but it is definitely solid. There are some really good/cool tracks on there and a few that are filler. But as with almost anything Ronnie ever touched, even the "filler" is still good.

That live album is fantastic. My ~only~ complaints about it would be Geezer's bass in parts of Southern Cross, where the bass phaser pedal gets to be a bit too much (for me). Not so much it ruins anything, but in a long song like that, it does wear in me a bit and I hate that feeling with the song that I consider to be my favorite Dio-era Sabbath track. The other thing, and this is really getting nit-picky, but Ronnie must say "thank you, thank you, thank you" about 150 times on that disc, in showing gratitude to the audience.

I LOVE RJD, a true metal god in every sense of the word and supposedly one of the nicest guys to ever step up on stage, and always quite gracious towards his audiences, but in this instance, his constant "thanks" almost get to be a bit too much.

But seriously of those two complaints, they are pretty minor in the grand scheme of things. That Radio City album rocks.

I certainly wish Gillan had stayed with Sabbath for at least a couple more albums. I actually like Born Again better than any 80's Deep Purple.

It's great to see LOVE for Born Again!! Those that don't have it should look into it and those that thought it wasn't all that great should try and give it another listen.

I still think it's a fine album in heavy metal :grinthumb

I've listened to "Born Again" in greater depth mostly because of Nolo's hailing of it. It's not one of my favorites but it's still good. Ian was certainly the last new singer that Sabbath put out a really quality singer with.

I enjoyed every moment of Born Again. Trashed, Zero The Hero were definitely standouts to me but the other tracks were just as enjoyable. Really glad to own this album now.
