I swear the 5 dollar bin is responsible for me getting a Black Sabbath mini collection going but this album was a pleasant surprise from one who only knows them for their sludgy, doomy stuff. Really like this track:

Air Dance


And I was also shocked to hear a Jazz instrumental:

Breakout

^^ Those 2 songs had kinda grown on me despite that I think the production was poor.

Went to see the Sabs last week and Geezer and Iommi are in fine form, Ozzy's voice was feeling the pinch during Dirty Women towards the end. Tommy Clufetos is exceptional and Ozzy explains that Bill Ward simply cannot play anymore. A superb show.

For years I heard such negative things from people I respected about this album I never bothered to pursue it. In 1989 I met the best guitarist I ever jammed with and he lent me this one (this is the same guy who had never heard Evil Woman and I had never heard Wicked World because they are on two different versions of the first album).

The album has it's weak points but man, stuff like Shockwave, Junior's Eyes, Over to You etc more than make up for it.

I still like those two early/last albums with Ozzy. I like the first 6 better...but I don't hate the last two.
