I don't get this at all....if Bill had reservations about touring/recording with his old mates he should have said that at the very beginning, instead of letting things get to this point.

Reminds me a bit of the Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts, he doesn't write songs, he doesn't sing back-up vocals, he just shows up sits behind his kit and plays. But to think of the Stones without him is almost unimaginable.

I still firmly believe this is about money and residuals from the album/dvd over the long haul...but we will never know the details of the financial side of the reunion.

I know what we said about Sharon, but Bill Ward must be some kind of nut to screw around with people like this, he's giving up potentially millions of $$$ here if there's a new album (guaranteed #1 album on every chart on earth) and a world wide stadium/arena tour. If he's not playing then it's not a reunion, in fact it's less of a reunion than it was when they got back together in the last '90's. They never stop having reunions, if you count those one-off reunions they've had, then this must be about the 4th Sabbath reunion.

So, good riddance I guess, and good luck with next 'The Bill Ward Band' tour dude (kicks off first week in April in the pool-table room at the King's Head pub, Tottenham Court Road, London)

I've always considered "respect" when it comes to contract/negotiations in the modern age to = money.

If they are paying him like a studio/touring musician instead of a full fledged member of Sabbath then I agree with his stand.

This will be their last go round, so drop the crap everyone split everything 4 ways and get on with it.

And I agree with MP, I get the feeling Sharon is somewhere in the mix of all this.:nw:

This. Some of the others can call him a "crybaby", etc. But the man has a point, he is a member of Black Sabbath and "accepting an unsignable contract" is ludicrous.

Trouble is nobody actually has a clue what's going on do they, because nobody has said a word about the actual details of the dispute, we are all speculating...it's Sharon, it's the money, it's just that Ward throws a lot of tantrums, we don't know why the contract is "unsignable"...for all we know he may have a bad back and there maybe a clause in it requiring him to play a drum solo upside down like Joey Jordison of Slipknot does. Until Ward or the band or the management explains, none of us really knows. I mean I just think he's being totally Paranoid, if he was a true Master of Reality he wouldn't just Sabotage the whole reunion like that, but it's always the same with that Sabbath bloody Sabbath band, this is now about Volume 4 of all these reunions, I mean I agree that you should Never Say Die, so maybe it will go ahead, but the way they're talking I reckon Heaven and Hell will freeze over before they sort this lot out.
