Obviously to do with when I was listening to them (not amongst my favourite bands, album-wise; the singls, for me, stand above the albums as a whole [though maybe that's cos I didn't listen to the albums so much?]) and, obviously, the earlier stuff was, arguably, more innovative / ground-breaking.
Freddie made it look so effortless on stage (sign of a real 'genius').

I never understood how Led Zep made it so big in the USA - everything about their music seemed to be the antethesis of what we'd expect to go down well in The States. As I've stated elsewhere, many of their longer songs are, for me, 'ruined' by the long 'Jimmy Page bits' in the middle....
