I think you can add Renaissance to this list, especially their early albums, a very underrated progressive/rock band in my opinion.

blue oyster cult, thats the only one i can think of right now, dont even know if i even spelt it right

OHW OHW OHW!!! There you name one of my favourite bands! Blue Öyster Cult! Great music! Fire of Unknown Origin is a really nice album. For me the best one.

Forgotten bands of the 70's... I want to nominate Dutch rockband Focus!

Most of the bands you guys have listed haven't really been forgotten, but that's just my opinion. I'm a diehard. I'll list some bands that made some great records during the 70's but were never really known enough in the first place to be forgotten all these years later.

See how many you guys recognize:

Sir Lord Baltimore
Budgie
Dust
Captain Beyond
Night Sun
Cactus
Bloodrock
Toad
Lucifer's Friend
Point Blank
Three Man Army
Trapeze
Randy Holden
West, Bruce And Laing
Hard Stuff
Stray
Jeronimo
Hawkwind
Flower Travellin' Band

Some of those are pretty obscure, no doubt, but all of them released albums that are definitely worth checking out for anyone interested in 70's rock.

Out of the list I can recognize only two, Budgie and Point Blank.
Here's a few more
Moxie
Legs Diamond
Blackfoot
Molly Hatchet
Sweet
Tommy Bolin

In 1979 Onwards, Roger McGuinn, Gene Clark & Chris Hilman (three originals from the Byrds) got together and had a Top 40 Album in the US. And had a Top 40 Single - Don't You Write Her Off. They toured America, Europe and Australia and did a Second Album, City, though it only got to #136 on the Billboard! I would definitely say that group was sadly Forgotten Big Time! The only other song I know from that Trio is "Won't Let You Down" which is also a Great track - I like it more than "Don't You Write Her Off", but their both good songs! :bonk:

Not forgotten by me of course, but by the general public:

Pat Travers
J. Geils Band
Atlanta Rhythm Section
Three Dog Night
Uriah Heep
Point Blank
Poco
Golden Earring
Boz Scaggs
Thin Lizzy
Slade
Humble Pie
Mott the Hoople
The Knack
The Hollies
Edgar Winter Group
Robin Trower
Grass Roots
Rare Earth

Edit: There were so many good bands of the 70's and I know there are some I have forgotten to mention :)
