John Lee Hooker, Savoy Brown, Junior Wells, John Mayall, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon. Pick one - the rest will fall into place. :)

Any of the great artists are the best place to start. For me, the best start is with Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Elmore James and Buddy Guy.

Kokomo Arnold or Lead Belly early blues from the Appellation Mountains. Just a man and his guitar

I'd say Eric Clapton, Taj Mahal, Leadbelly, Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie, Ry Cooder, and BB King.

Phenomenal Monk/Trane album! I jumped for joy when the recordings were discovered and released.
