Well you see I don't necessarily hate them, I guess it really depends on the band. Some can pull it off and others fail. I can listen to most Opeth stuff. But then there are other bands I listen to (especially doom metal) that have very long songs that seem to drag out and seem a bit unnecessary to me.

Fair enough.
I can agree some lengthy tracks are overdoing it and could be shorter. I think doing a 10 minute plus epic has a big risk involved. It is why prog bands are much better at doing songs in this style because its more time to be able to let the song flow nicely. Agalloch, Opeth, Anathema are three specific bands I absolutely enjoy because of their diversity.

Just discovered this band. I actually heard online about their acoustic stuff. It's really great! I was very impressed by the creativity in which they approach their songs. Then, I listened to their regular music. I can't stand black metal, and that's what the vocals reminded me of. But the acoustic songs were great!

Probably because they are a major mixture of doom, black, prog metal. lol
Can't really lump them into one sub section.
