The likes of Journey and Foreigner upped the quality quota as regards classic rocker albums and VH have just slammed it, so I doubt Aerosmith would have the cheek to release a half assed effort a la Just Push Play.

It's Tyler you have to watch as he's so Hollywood you could get a pile of shitty "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" ballads. If Joe Perry had his way there'd be no ballads and just balls out rockers and blues (see the "Making of Pump" documentary).

I'm concerned about this album. It's taking far too long, Tyler clearly wants to move on and become a television personality, otherwise would else would someone like Tyler, who's made and lost at least 2 fortunes in his life, appear on a ****ing talent contest?

There's a video on Aeroforceone called something like 'guess the mystery drummer', if any of the music from that clip appears on the album, it's gonna be brilliant.

I haven't got a problem with Aerosmith returning to the 70's ballads, and sticking it at the end of the album -You See Me Crying & Home Tonight are two of Aero's best tunes IMO, but don't put more than 1 on there.

Prove me wrong Aerosmith.

Can't wait to hear this!! I can see it a bit on the concept side, if it's along the lines of Get Your Wings in a production sense as well as musically.

Really good points, especially re: use of ballads in a sparing capacity.

It's more the time that they're NOT spending on the album that concerns me. Is Tyler doing a Bono and fitting in studio sessions when it suits him, between releasing autobiographies, ***** solo singles and telling some spotty generic R&B sounding college kid that they're the next big thing, in front of a TV audience that doesn't buy music?

Having said that, I heard a couple of official Perry riffs on Youtube from the website "In The Studio" thing they do and they sounded awesome.

The reintroduction of Jack Douglas as Producer can't be a bad thing either.

Have all their releases...so I will get it anyway. In addition to their signature sound, they have that wicked wit full of sneer and sass when it comes to lyrics. Having said that, I wonder how that would translate to a flowing "concept" type of album.

Great post. Tyler tells us Aerosmith fans he's committed, he ain't going anywhere, then as you say, spends his time appearing to do everything but work on the album.

Perry is still bang on it, saw him twice with the Project in 2010. If he can continue to be the driving force behind Aerosmith and wants to keep walking out on stage and to borrow a phrase 'Let The Music Do The Talking' we'll be alright.

After the success of Van Halen Id like to think Aerosmith will also put out a pretty cool rock n roll album.
