BLUE ÖYSTER CULT To Release First Album In Two Decades, 'The Symbol Remains', In October

To me, when an old band puts out new material, the songs should at least sound like it's their material. Like the last 2 KISS albums, even without Ace & Peter, they were 100% KISS (though Sonic Boom was the better of the 2 albums). Also the 1995 UFO reunion album Walk On Water. That sounded...

Genesis Reuniting for First Tour in 13 Years

Also a shame they still won't do a reunion with Hackett and/or Gabriel. Steve has been keeping busy, but I'm not sure about Peter. Still, they should have time for a small to medium sized tour with Genesis.

BLUE ÖYSTER CULT To Release First Album In Two Decades, 'The Symbol Remains', In October

I'd prefer a reunion with the Bouchard brothers, just to see if there's any magic left in the tank. I haven't heard Curse Of The Hidden Mirror, but Heaven Forbid was only OK. Despite what the story says, they were always a bit underrated. But one of my all time favorite bands.

    Nightwish (Official Thread)

Do you think they were being too slavish to a concept on the album? As in, to the detriment of the quality of the individual songs? To me, Judas Priest's Nostradamus was only OK because they spent too much of the 2 disc album trying to keep the concept together.

    W.A.S.P. (Official Thread)

Jeebus! Is the back plastic cracked at all? I've had hundreds of CD's, some of them quite old and never had one crack in half. I've busted a few that were too scratched to play, but they didn't break than cleanly. You know what I think?....

    Larry Wallis 'belated' RIP

Larry was also in and out of UFO in 1972 without an official recording. This seems to be from the "first" album On Parole and not any rerecorded version. sQ5-RXUm8Lg

I'm somewhat unimpressed with this track. It's a good song, but not really WT sounding. It's like Sharon guested on another band's song.

    Prince (Official Thread)

I love that video, for so many reasons and so many musicians. It shows the talent of Prince in a way I certainly never "got" when I was listening to his 80's stuff. He could easily have been Jimi Hendrix 2.0, but he did his own thing instead. I really liked his "Revolution" era music a lot...

Former Bad Company Singer Brian Howe Reportedly Dead at 66

Dangerous Age and (of course) Holy Water were the best of his four great albums with Bad Company. It was a hell of a comeback for the band. Rough Diamonds was pretty "meh" so it was more like 7 years between good BC albums. I played Holy Water (the track) into the freakin' ground in the...

    Evanescence (Official Thread)

Amy still has one of the greatest voices in metal, or music for that matter. The writing and general direction of "Evanescence" has been completely disappointing since Fallen. The debut album was my gateway drug to non-mainstream metal in a lot of ways. Lacuna Coil being the main goth metal...

RUSH Music Sales Music Surge 2000%

Sometimes, there's so much music out there, you forget how much you loved a band like Rush. I had every CD up to Test For Echo when I sold most of my CD collection around 2000. I never did get back 'round to buying them again. I've been really focused on new stuff from Euro-Metal bands the...

Neil Peart, dead at 67 due to brain cancer

R.I.P. to the best drummer that ever drummed, not to mention one of the best lyricists. Maybe the only one that actually needed a massive drum kit like he used. We knew he had health issues that forced him to retire, but this just plain sucks. Also,
