Toys in the Attic basically made them into "America's Band". Their first two albums are really good, but Toys is as close to hard rock perfection as you can get. If they hadn't made Toys I think Aerosmith would be a bit more obscure, like The New York Dolls.

While almost all Aerosmith albums are led by two great songs, Toys in the Attic has the title track, Walk This Way, and the best Aerosmith song of all time: Sweet Emotion, thus making it the best Aerosmith album of all time, not just the 70's

I count myself a member of the "blue army".
Rocks is the best and the last good album. Ok toys is good also. But rocks is the high water mark for me.
Second best for me would be the first album. It's not as well produced and a bit uneven but I think it's overlooked.

They are the sad testimony to the positive effect of drug abuse.
A clean and sober toxic twins are positively depressing.
"Love in an elevator" , "Crazy" etc.
They literally made me depressed. To see the once great swaggering bad boys reduced to that was to give up all hope. Sad.
It's like this for me.

Side note. Music From Another Dimension was pretty damn good.
I guess once nobody is buying, selling out goes off the table.

Late to the party here(so to speak)
I thought Done with mirrors was the last drug/reefer influenced album they made was great,
Not a lot of people saw it that way.
