Good one Cos. That is HEAVY too. For some reason Mercury's voice doesn't strike me as bluesy but he carries the tune well.

Yeah blues was never a major influence on Queen I think. Maybe indirectly through Led Zeppelin, Cream, Black Sabbath and such. John Deacon was influenced more by funk, soul and motown and Freddie was the opera guy. Roger had the most of the Rock spirit but despite their diverse musical tastes every guy in the band shared the interest in rock and roll hence their versatility.

Faith No More, from Surprise! You're Dead! to Lionel Richie's Easy in two albums. Live, they also performed covers of I Started a Joke, Free Your Mind and, most bizarrely, Portishead's Glory Box! There is also Another Body Murdered with rappers Boo-Yah Tribe. Faith No More is another band which I wish would reform.

Most Versatile Band Ever

QUEEN is the most versatile band ever!!!!!!!! With over 40 different genres of music Queen definitely is the most awesomely eclectic band that ever existed! None of their songs sound even remotely alike. All of them are wonderfully unique. They are an amazing collection of genius musicians with phenomenal brilliance, versatility, and magic led by the ultimate showman ever to grace the Earth, FREDDIE MERCURY!!!
Queen is not just their greatest hits. Their hidden gems are a treasure trove of sheer ecstasy, an excursion into auditory bliss! Had their lesser known songs gotten proper airplay, they All would've been hits! :)
QUEEN FOREVER!!

Sorry folks, but Queen is the answer to this question. If you don't believe me, sit down...start with their first album and work your way up.

Chuck Berry? Queen? "Weird Al" Yankovic? Hank Williams III? Kid Rock? Nope none of them, I've got to go with Elvis Presley.

Which band has played heavy blues rock, heavy rock, metal(at least considered in their day), progressive metal(imho), and techno rock ? All which have enabled them to create long epic songs, short poetic like songs ie madrigal, heavy songs, songs that were slightly more poppish, proto speed and thrash at least in parts of certain songs, ballads, instrumentals, music with synths, music without synths, tinging their music with different ethnic flavors and genres, heavy vocals to mellow to mid range and melodic, lyrics of all issues both deep and not so deep, etc etc........ ? Answer.......RUSH !

Amen, brother. But they are not the only (albeit they are best). I want to add: The Beatles, Alice Cooper, Muse, Sparks, Styx, Uriah Heep, Jeff Beck, Therion, Ayreon, The Residents, The Tiger Lillies, Frank Zappa, ELO. 2smile1.gif
