It's not my favourite band from the last 25 years. I do like them, though. They have great songs and a few very good albums. I also understand them being the Greatest Act, since they are really popular worldwide and one of the biggest concert selling artists nowadays.

Yeah, I'd pay that. Few other bands from that period have had the sustained success they've had. Certainly could have picked a lot worse.

Q magazine described Wigwam as 'art rock bollocks', so I suppose they would applaud U2.

Fans are loyal, as we all know. While I am not a huge fan I do like some things they have done over the years. Congrats U2!

U2 are way overrated.
Not surprising to me at all. I am a big fan of early U2 right up to "Joshua Tree", after that not so much.
For me they are a beneficiary of timing as much as anything else, there is simply no other rock band that can rival them during the last two decades, the only two I can think of are ZZ Top, and Rush and ZZ Top has not been busy enough to be relevant. I like both bands more than U2.
I do wonder if Bono had not been stricken with delusions of grandeur and become political if U2 would not get as much stick as they do these days.
