I must admit they wouldn't be my choice ..but you can't argue with the vote ...

There's no denying they were probably the biggest band in the late 80's/early 90's until they released Zooropa.

It's not my favourite band from the last 25 years. I do like them, though. They have great songs and a few very good albums. I also understand them being the Greatest Act, since they are really popular worldwide and one of the biggest concert selling artists nowadays.

Fans are loyal, as we all know. While I am not a huge fan I do like some things they have done over the years. Congrats U2!

Not surprising to me at all. I am a big fan of early U2 right up to "Joshua Tree", after that not so much.

For me they are a beneficiary of timing as much as anything else, there is simply no other rock band that can rival them during the last two decades, the only two I can think of are ZZ Top, and Rush and ZZ Top has not been busy enough to be relevant. I like both bands more than U2.

I do wonder if Bono had not been stricken with delusions of grandeur and become political if U2 would not get as much stick as they do these days.:hm:
