Anyone buy the new “Eagles” cd “Long road out of Eden”?
A friend bought it and loaned it to me to listen to and I was surprised. I was really not all that excited but he was guite persistant that I would love it so I relented and played it. First thought was pretty much old songs new day but after awhile I found myself getting into it. It’s pretty much standard Eagles material but with enough differences to make it worth listening to. It has really grown on me and I would say if someone likes the Eagles they will enjoy this cd. Maybe if you don’t like the Eagles this may bring you around.

Favorite songs on the cd are:

Waiting In The Weeds
How Long
No More Cloudy Days
Do Something
Long Road Out Of Eden

I haven't bought it yet, but recently I was visiting my older brother who has it. He really preferred the second CD. I like both. What you basically get is classic Eagles, with a little more emphasis on their older country-rock style on the first CD and something of a little more contemporary and, well, political flavor on the second.

If you really like the Eagles, I see no reason why you wouldn't be very pleased with this new music. One thing that really stands out is the vocals. They still sing really really well together. They don't sound like "old rockers" at all. Those harmonies are still just as sweet as ever, and the lead vocals are just as clear and passionate as they sounded on the 70s albums.

I intend to get this one. I love the Eagles. Saw them on some morning show and I am quite enthralled with what I've heard. Love Joe Walsh talking about why they still rehearse so much. He said on the new songs especially, just cause we wrote 'em doesn't mean we can play 'em yet. LOL

It's a piggin marvellous album. I've ripped the two CDs to my hard drive and am listening to it now. I can't understand the reticence of other Eagles fans about this album.
Glen's sinister voice is now telling me that '...it's calling for yooouuu...' Brilliant stuff.
