'Little Girls' in lyrics and sometimes in a creepy way

Hi there!

I'm 19 so if my question seems stupid to you just consider my perspective i haven't grown up with any of this.

For a pretty long time now i couldn't help but notice that in allot of lyrics from a whole lot of different classic rock artists u can hear lyrics about little girls and like that title says, sometimes in a creepy way.

Here are 2 examples:

The doors - Alabama song (Whiskey bar)

"Well, show me the way
To the next little girl
Oh, don't ask why
Oh, don't ask why"

and

"For if we don't find
The next little girl
I tell you we must die
I tell you we must die"


Jethro Tull - Aqualung

"Sitting on a park bench
Eying little girls with bad intent"


So my question is, does it mean anything? What is the reason? Is it maybe a metaphor for something?
I really wanna know cuz sometimes it just creeps me out a bit.


Disclaimer: i realise Led Zeppelin has allot of lyrics about 16 year old girls i honestly suspect Jimmy Page to be the reason and not Robert Plant to that considering his wife

Many songs of the past have what would be considered inappropriate lyrics today. "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl" (Sonny Boy Williamson) and "You're Sixteen" (Ringo Starr) come to mind. I hope society has evolved enough to keep these types of lyrics a thing of the past.

Arh, those two words "little girl" are used in a heck lot of songs from the 50s,60s,70s and 80s. To me it is just a saying, maybe a bit ironic now and then. The music culture in the past was something else, than it is today. It was more dreamy and also fun somehow.

It's just another way of saying young women. But when people say "young girls" it immediately gives people the wrong idea. The fact that some people in today's society are creeped out by that saying is due to propaganda in our media. In my opinion, it's a PSYOP used on Westerners to make them paranoid of their neighbors.

Really a pity as so many songs use this term. And even in the one below by Oingo Boingo, he mentions that one of them is "too little" which infers the rest of them are legal.

Some of the lyrics of these songs may just be observations made by the writer of the lyrics.

Jethro Tull's - Aqualung for instance could have been that Ian Anderson had observed this in a park somewhere, I don't think he was writing about himself somehow.

I know many years ago when I was a park keeper, I noticed an old guy sitting on a park bench, with his whatsit out, I don't know if snot was running down his nose as in Aqualung, but we had to call in the police who arrested the guy for indecent exposure, and he had done it before apparently.
There were no little girls actually around, but the park wasn't far from a girls school, where we imagine he could have been waiting for them to finish school.
If that was the case, it was lucky we got him caught before they finished school for the day.

I'm not sure about The Doors track, but as I say they could just be observations, but I have to agree with Frands

Did Led Zeppelin actually state the age of 16 in their lyrics?

A lot of those bands from way back weren't much older than the 'little girls' mentioned, & where that term just meant girls younger than they were.

Last but not least, people like Gary Glitter & Jimmy Saville, to name a couple, probably doesn't help ease one's mind with this question, as they give a bad name to all those innocent lyric writers that were just 'using a saying' with no harmful thought in mind at all.
