Wow...40 years ago...I'll always remember finding out...it was so unbelievable especially with Street Survivors just getting released... It took me a while to go out and buy the album...

A couple months ago a local record/cd shop was closing & I actually picked up a best of the Rossington Collins Band CD for only a couple dollars... I only thought they had the one album out which I had & liked a lot so I was surprised to see a best of but I did find out they released two records...

He looks good for a 66 year old guy. I'm glad he still keeps the Skynyrd dream alive.

Yeah. Especially after he had such heart problems.
A lot of people urged him to call it quits and he wasn't having it.

I watched a 30 minute show yesterday on AXS where they talked about Skynyrd in the very early days. Ronnie didn't allow improvisation while performing live. He insisted they memorize their music and perform it just as it was written. This fascinated me.....because it meant there were no jam solos.

Yeah I saw a video of the engineer that recorded freebird and it turns out that some parts of the solo is actually 2 tracks overlaid.
Alan played the lead exactly the same in different takes. Note for note.

Ronnie was a notorious task master. But it paid off.

Long interview with Ed King
