I have very little understanding of why Ravi Shankar hasn't already gotten a thread here! so are there anyone else whom enjoys the Indian legend`s musicianship or raviji`s ability to compose subline melody at the drop of a hat. he also brought the music of the east to the west, even George Harrinson was a fan...that`s cool in my book...

Shankar remains rather unheralded by many in terms of influence on western culture Through the likes of Harrison and others, his sitar influences have endured as monumental towards the definitive perameters of '60's countercultural musical explorations as well as the introduction of the instrument into western mainstream entertainment perhaps brought the world closer to the movement's intrinsically benevolent "share the world" philosophy....

I'm a weekly visitor to the New York City Lincoln Center Library of the Performing Arts. This library has a stunning collection of CDs and DVDs available for loan. Since I've been going there for a number of years, I've built up a massive amount of music downloads that will last a lifetime to listen. I've pretty much grabbed everything that could possibly be of interest to me (although each time I visit I find a few more items to try out). There is however one item I noticed there but never took it home yet-that is until this thread reminded me of it.

It's this big box-set on the shelves. Actually it's the library's own plain-looking box-set. It's locked until you check it out at the front desk so browsers cannot know what is inside unless doing so. The only markings outside the box is "Ravi Shankar & George Harrison". This thread reminded me of the item so I looked it up and found on Wiki what it most likely contains

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collaborations_(Ravi_Shankar_and_George_Harrison_album)

After reading that article, I'll most definitely bring it home next week.
