Adrenalize since it was mentioned was underrated and I liked that one too.

But the new one beat both for me.

I only have the first two albums IMHOP the rest suck...
Absoliutely. Couldn't have said it better. I really tried to like Pyromania (because I adored the first album) but no. Just no.

No Pete Willis, no Def Leppard.

No Pete Willis, no Def Leppard.

Its either that or the overproduced style of Mutt Lange. With some bands he did well but with albums like Hysteria it was way too heavily polished.

But that's when Def Lep sounds the best! Mutt Lange wasn't the only one who used an over production style, polished albums were common in the 80's.

I'm a fan of Pyromania, Hysteria, and Adrenalize. Songs from the Sparkle Lounge was a decent album, IMO.

I have to disagree a bit about sounding the best. I think sometimes the harder edge rawer albums sound a bit better but that's me personally. Plus I thought while Hysteria is a good album it went too pop rock for me to rate it as high as everyone else. Pyromania I enjoyed in saying that because the songs to me were just way better. I get what you're saying and in other cases I can agree but sometimes polished production can feel overdone and ruin aspects of the music to me. Needs to be some balance.

Hysteria was way too poppy in its production for me. Too much compression and a very weak guitar sound. Excellent songwriting, but should've gone for less commercial sound. Pyromania was hands down their best album IMO. Perfect balance of gritty riffs and good production. Full of hits. All killer, no filler. Apart from the drum machine outro. That sucked.

Needless to say the new album is a bag of dicks.

I like all their albums up to and including Adrenalize. Nothing since then has impressed me at all.
I think my favourite is Pyromania ... I had a copy I had scratched up badly and last year found another copy! (Same Masterdisc pressing) -- I was quite happy!

Pyromania is a great record. The first 3 albums really in my opinion are their best.
