You may want to give some newer Garage Rock stuff a try. I have seen it called "garage rock revival" whatever. I think some of it is the best stuff made more recently. Here are couple I like

I have a lot a respect for The White Stripes early stuff particularly
Broken Bricks

Redd Blood Cells Album

The Hives - Veni Vidi Vicious

I have some more I could suggest if you are interested

Thanks everyone for your interest and input.
What I'm really interested in the innovators of garage punk of the 60s era and then garage punk psychobilly psych ( any combination ) stuff from the 80s ... stuff like The Cramps, The Molocks, ... and yeah the Troggs and The Seeds especially are the bands that got me interested in
the first place ie op.

Australia, working in the EU right now!
How about the NY garage outfit, Eric Stumpo's Plan 9 (not to confused with the dark punk band Plan 9). They were big time on Midnight Records in the 1980s with cool garage psych gems like I like girls, Step outta time, Dealing with the Dead, etc.

Of course there are the Thirteenth Floor Elevators

And the Moving Sidewalks (Billy Gibbons pre ZZ top)

The Lyre's are a more recent band but the real deal IMO.
