Re: Sepultura

I'm a bit (pleasantly ) surpised to hear you are a fan of the mighty SEPULTURA,
EZ. Among all the Thrash bands we have been discussioning over the last few days I would consider them to be closer to Death Metal then any of the others. The early stuff at least.

I remember when Arise first came out and I had just read a review in the now defunct mag RIP. I went to my favorite local music store looking for it. They were not carrying it so I ask the girl working the counter if they could get it in for me. To my surprise she reached into the employees music ( where they kept the music they listened to at work) and bitterly complaining about one her fellow workers she handed me a brand new but open Sepultura ~ Arise cassette. She said, not w/o malice, "Here, have it for free just get it out of here!!!" lol

I brought it home and threw it into my tape deck for my friend Shawn to hear, a hardcore Slayer fan. After making ugly faces for a long period he looked at the tape cover and said " No wonder they sound like that!! Look how f@#8ing ugly these bastards are !!!!"

Ahhh yes, the good ole' days :heheh:

Needless to say it was love at first hearing for me

Come on man :oyea: Seriously !?!?!?! I thought that only Bobby Sherman, David Cassidy, and Justin Bieber's little followers were big time fans just because of how they looked on the back album covers. But Sepultura !?!?!?! :omg:

Say it ain't so ...:heheh:

Havent listened to these guys newer releases and have to admit that I lost interest after Choas AD. Roots was too nu- metalish for my taste. After Max left I really lost interest. Up until then I was a HUGE fan of this band. Especially Beneath the Ruins, Arise and Chaos AD.

Kairos was a good album with Green on vocals. Had a Chaos AD feel to the music but mostly I prefer Roots and before it. I think Roots is a great album.
