Myles Goodwyn still tours with his band, they were playing at one of our casinos recently. I was sort of surprised to see his name in our local music news magazine but was also glad to know he's alive and well and doing what he loves.

I've loved AW since 1974 when I got my first album for Christmas from my brother.

Talking with my friend Angie (whenever she shows up here on CRF :uh:), there are a number of great concerts in Canada. A lot more than in California any way.

We do seem to get a lot of the older artists touring up here all the time...perhaps because we still love the old music bands book their gigs here...:dunno:

Guitarist: Dave Navarro- It might not be as apparent nowadays but Dave's early playing with Jane's Addiction was amazing. His riffage was top notch and his screeching guitar tone is very unique.
Agreed, but Navarro has always stood out off the band and has always received the adequate press and share of fan appreciation, don't see how he's under-rated :uh:

Band - Creedence Clearwater Revival
Guitarist - Mark Knofler
No on both counts, CCR have enjoyed major success across the globe and most ardent music fans know of them for their extensive catalogue and lots others know them for Fortunate Son :roll eyes:

Mark Knopfler was the principle everything in DS, his solo work also put his writing and playing abilities. I'm slightly taken aback here.

I think Dave is underrated because he is much more recognizable for his extra media stuff over his actual guitar playing.

Navarro is anything but underrated. I mean, I like quite a few things he's done but I wouldn't put his actual playing ability much higher than a typical bar band guitarist. He does have an ear for 'shock tone' if you'll allow the invention and is quite creative but compared to any truly great or even very good famous guitarist?

Band; Winger. This band were very ridiculed every day in the Mtv. With Beavis and Budhead cartoons. Winger not only weren't a typical Hair Metal band, they were more specials, more technics, and they had fantastic albums, for example "Pull".

Guitar; When people speaks about great guitar heroes, always forgets Kee Marchelo. In the "out of this world" album with europe, his work was amazing. He did one of the most hard rock melodic solos ever. For example in the song "superstitions"!

Singer; Mike Tramp from White Lion or Freak of Nature. Ok, he haven't an amazing voice, but for me he have a lot of feeling, is very special. I love his voice and his albums, but his better work was in his solitary album called "Capricorn"!

Most underrated band: On CRF, it is U2 for sure! :p But seriously... overall I would say.......... Keane. They could be a lot more popular for their lovely melodies.

Most underrated singer: George Michael. Great voice! Not appreciated enough... in the US especially.

Most underrated guitarist: Nuno Bettencourt, maybe?

Most underrated singer: Terry Reid for me. A lot of emotions are coming from his voice, depending on the mood of song. Plus he turned down offers from Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple to be their vocalist.

Most underrated guitarist: Tony Bourge.

Most underrated band: Highway Robbery, one of best US hard rock bands ever IMO.
