I understand that many of you may play more than one Instrument, as do I, so let's hear about/see what you do/got, alright? You can chat about what you play, how you play & why you play it if you'd like. The main point here is to vote on the Poll above to see where my fellow Musicians Instrumental focus is at. You can talk about any other Instruments that you might play, but vote for the main one. If you Sing more than you play Guitar or Drums, for example, than vote for Singing. If you Sing, yet have more of a focus on your Instrument(als), then vote for your choice of Instrument, ya see? I feel that my choices above will fill out most of the possibilities that I'd expect receiving from this Forum. Shout it out loud!!!:grinthumb

I am at heart a drummer. I think drums more than any other instrument but with a family and not always in the right place to play I have become more of a 'uhhhkkk' guitar player. I'm not really that good at either but really enjoy playing and singing whenever I get the chance.

Keyboard with Guitar a close second. Drumming is my passion, but I really suck at it.

I should. They have come such a long way since the monodynamic Simmons pads I remember. The most annoying thing about electronic drums was that no matter how hard or soft you hit them they sounded the same. This reduced your ability to play with feel almost to the point where it was more aggravation than enjoyment. But the ones I played a few years ago actually had about 9 different levels of dynamic ability. You could still tell the mechanical goofery during long rolls and such but they were pretty fun. I think that set was around two thousand so I don't think I'll be getting them any time soon.

The next house we buy will have an area dedicated to me getting loud. I actually have a set of Mapex Mars series I left in Baltimore. I'll likely pick up a used set and add my cymbals when the time comes.

^ Today's Electronic Drums, especially Roland's (which my set personally is), are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than they used to be. You might as well place your stick(s) in sludge or hit a balloon for sound for that matter. God, they were terrible!:mad Good thing I was more focused on Guitar at that time and/or couldn't afford any type of Electronic Drums. Roland's are just incredible & top of the line in my opinion. You can play them through Headphones (so the neighbors won't hear anything from you) or you can play them through some type of speaker system/amp. I personally own a nice, quality 200 watt amp that I got at a good price. Trust me on this, 200 watts is VERY powerful if you ever got on stage & needed some penetrating volume. I barely turn mine to 3 & it's quite loud there. Going up to 6 or even 5 would be VERY loud & I'd almost never say to go past that as far as a normal jam session would go. Anyways, really consider everything I said because you'll clearly get more from Electronic Drums, having more (volume) options, consistent "tuning", more creative sounds & a much faster, more efficient set up of the kit. Atleast as far as things have gone with me.:cheers2
