....is a killer heavy metal band from Wichita, Kansas. Guitarist/Vocalist Mark 'the Shark' Shelton founded the band way back in 1977.
The original band had played local bars, and they gained some attention with a song called Herman Hill inspired by the Herman Hill riot. They released theior first album Invasion in 1980 on the their own label.

The band's next album, The Mark Of The Beast was an album that Shelton did not like. It sounded more prog and proto type metal...and this was something Mark wanted to change as theband had developed into a more epic metal styling as time went on.

The next album is a must have for all new comers to this band. The album has a great mystic metal feel and IMO, the best album they have going. From 1983...CRYSTAL LOGIC!!

Never heard of this band before now, looks like I'll see if Crystal Logic is out there somewhere and start with that one.

Thanks MP.:grinthumb

Re: Manilla Road

Cool Lord we got each other...:heheh:

How about that Necropolis tune?? Eh? A little low on the production but when I first heard that tune (back in 85) I flipped my lid. We covered it in the band I was in at the time...no one in the audience knew it but it went over as we opened with it.

Crystal Logic is great..kinda rare and pricey. Amazon has one as low as 29 bucks.

I need a new CD/upgrade copy (I had it on vinyl) if you find it cheaper let me know...if there is enough copies that is.

Re: Manilla Road

I LOVE MANILLA ROAD !! I have everything they have ever recorded on CD and or Vinyl including Live After Midnight which is some very early live material that was released on vinyl early this year.

Great band . I have thought about making a thread but here one is. I haven't really gone though the metal section much as I go to another metal forum and basically use this for for my 70's interests.

Great thread MP :grinthumb
