Re: Manilla Road

One of my favorite bands ...Open the Gates , The Deluge , Gates of Fire and Mystification are all favorites from them ( though most of their disc is top notch ).

Playground of the Damned is set to be released in 2011. I can't wait :grinthumb

Re: Manilla Road

Here's my Manilla Road collection, 9 albums in order.

Edit: Dead images removed.

So what do our resident experts think I'm missing?...
Thanks to MP for introducing them to me months ago, and Magic for her two recommends.

Re: Manilla Road

So once again , I am not an "expert" but merely an enthusiastic fan of this great band.

You have a great collection so far LG ( Magic isn't doing bad either :D)
but I would say that you need to pick up Voyager and The Circus Maximus.
The Circus Maximus, is different and was meant to be a Mark Shelton solo project but was basically deemed "Manilla Road" by the record company.

It is however very underrated and definitely worthy of your collection.

Re: Manilla Road

Glad to see you two getting into this great band :grinthumb
Manilla Road ,while highly respected by Metal musicians and the underground
are pretty much under appreciated

Re: Manilla Road

Manilla Roads debut Invasion ,was recorded in Kansas in 1979. It was quite a bit different then their later epic metal material. Rawer, more primitive and bordering on heavy space rock at times, I love it, but there are a lot of Manilla Road fans out there that take exception to my affection .These two examples, Empire and Far Side of The Sun are stand outs from that album.
