Did you see Manny had his own Nazareth going around?? Wish he was in the band so the lineup would be them three again.

Nazareth Deny Retirement Rumors

At 45 years and counting — and a fair bit of the original lineup still intact — Nazareth is one of the longest-tenured rock bands currently working. And despite rumors to the contrary, they don’t seem to have any plans to hang it up anytime soon.

Bassist and founding member Pete Agnew took to the group’s website in order to refute recent reports that Nazareth’s upcoming appearance at the Swedish Helgeafestivalen Kristianstad Festival in August would be their final show. Not one to mince words, Agnew dismissed the rumors by saying, “This is, of course, a load of rubbish and I don’t know where these clowns get their stories from.”

Not that Agnew was necessarily surprised to learn of the band’s supposed retirement. “It won’t be the first time that promoters used these tactics to improve ticket sales and it won’t be the last,” he explained. “I see on Facebook that some of you believed this and now the rumors start to fly, which only harms the band. As I’ve said before, if any big decision concerning the band is being made it will be announced by us.”

As if to demonstrate Nazareth’s continued commitment to rock, Agnew shared the news that the guys are currently in the studio assembling a new album, where they’ll lay down tracks through the end of the month — then head back out on the road for a two-month tour of the U.S. and Canada. The new LP, which will be the band’s 23rd studio set, follows 2011′s ‘Big Dogz,’ a Top 30 hit on the Russian charts.

Heard the rumours. I just laughed, have the ticket for their London show in October, so I knew it was not true. :heheh:

Haven't listened to Nazareth for ages, should dig out Hair of the Dog one of these days or even their greatest hits compilation album. Never a massive fan of theirs' but have always respected them.

I agree with Agnew about promoters using that dodge to increase ticket sales, old veteran bands like this will tell us themselves when they are hanging it up. I've never had as much respect for The Who since they played that shell game with their fans, 2 or 3 times at least.:wtf:

What about Razamanaz? If you have not heard this album you missed a lot! :heheh:

Saw this video. Wish I could see him with original Nazareth again before everyone suddenly disappear. Their version of Changin' Times is a monster live, better than the original Naz in fact! Not sure how's Manny doing right now...
Oh, just found out. He has his own band called... The Manny Charlton Band and recently released a new album 'Hellacious'.

Another thing he did right after he was sacked from Nazareth is this heavy tune for game makers of Doom. Apparently he liked the game so much he sent this demo to them to be released as a game theme song. :D

^^I've got a copy of RazaMaNaz Nolo, but haven't listened to it for years.

That's funny about Manny sending a song to the makers of Doom...:heheh:

When the first Doom came out we were suitably impressed, seems like a lifetime ago now.

Shocking to see how high the numbers are right?? Albums that sound so fresh today to have aged this much but so well

I heard all of their albums from the classic era (IMO) of '73 to '77 back when I was a kid in the 70's EXCEPT "Rampant". So when I rediscovered Nazareth again about 5 years ago I had a whole "new" album to sink my teeth into. Almost like a long lost album that they released 30+ years later to me.
