Motley Crue will never return after making one more album and performing a farewell tour, Nikki Sixx has insisted.

And he admits he’s already emotional about the moment they take their final bow – even though he’s not yet sure when it will take place.

He’d recently speculated that the band would bow out after completing work on their movie version of The Dirt and releasing its soundtrack, recording a last record then hitting the road one more time.

Now he’s spoken in stronger terms about the chances of Crue returning at some point afterwards.

Sixx tells The Music: “It’s important that when you do a farewell tour that people understand. When you put a bullet in the back of the horse’s head and it goes down, it’s not a plastic bullet – it’s a ****ing shotgun blast.

“Blow its ****ing brains out. It’s never coming back.

“It’s the only way I can look myself in the mirror and do a farewell tour. That’s it: when we take our final bow, it’s it. I will cry – I cry thinking about it.”

Sixx believes the act of winding up Crue’s career will feel like finishing what they started.

“It could be a beautiful ending,” he says. “When you go and see a great ****ing movie and you go, ‘That was amazing – that blew my mind!’ it’s not like ‘That blew my mind, and, um maybe there’ll be a sequel to it.”

A visceral way to look at it indeed...but I agree with Sixx. If you are doing a last tour/show then don't mess about put your heart and soul into the final shows and bow out gracefully at the top of your game.

Always strikes me as funny when I remember the Who's duplicity ages ago, "Won't Get Fooled Again" or "The Who Sells Out"...either one is applicable to what they pulled, at least 3 'final absolutely last ever' tours and they are still playing.:wtf:

Hope they make it to the UK. Not a huge Crue fan, but like some tracks and they were great when I saw them at Sonisphere.

There's no such thing as The Who anymore, just two old men using the name...it's called a fraud.

I hate to slam bands I like but you are right, they were frauds for how they went about generating interest in their tours years ago. When John passed away I thought for sure that was it for the band, but I guess Roger still wants to play.

Pete won't be playing for much longer though, he's going deaf and now it's to the point it affects his balance not just his hearing.

I hope they make a pissed-off, raw album like their first two amazing albums; that would be coming around full circle. For me, I saw their fair-well tour two times already, it was the Shout at the Devil tour; they've never been close to being the same band since that album.
