You know, Peter's been crying about this from his very first interview after his initial departure from KISS all the way up to this latest 'victim' interview. How he's always been ganged up on and outnumbered.

Hey, Catman.....you were in the biggest rock band in the world at one time. You can spin it how you want, but overindulging in your addictions got you booted from the band the first time.

This last time is a bit cloudier, but it seems to all boil down to money.

The bottom line is, this guy has been made rich beyond his wildest dreams, and not once, but TWICE has been in the hottest band in the world.

And both times, he threw it away.

I'm not defending Gene, because he is in fact, a tool. Paul, I have no feelings. Just kinda neutral.

So, let's see.....who hasn't Peter cried 'foul' over?....Well, all that's left is Ace.

Here ya go, Pete, on the house:

Of course, I wasn't working for Kiss nor do I have any inside sources but after the many many books, articles, & interviews I have read over the years I totally agree with Vehicle here. I have Peter's new book but am still in the early chapters so I'm curious on his views with everything but I did read his ex-wife Lydia's book & Peter did seem totally out of control as was Ace. The one thing I have an opinion on is how Peter felt after Beth became such a huge hit & what a phenomenal songwriter he was and that the other two were holding him back. My opinion on Beth is look at the songwriting credits(Criss,Penridge, & EZRIN). It's a beautifully written song but I've heard the original version by Criss & Penridge titled "Beck" & it does not sound anywhere near a million selling single ( that version is on YouTube ). I know that original version was just a tape recorder set up and it's just bongos & guitar but Peter himself has said that it was a song they wrote to mock another band member's girl who was always nagging. I feel it was Ezrin who masterminded the song from changing the name to adding a beautiful string orchestration and making it a million dollar song.

All that said I will say Peter is a very good songwriter but not for the material that is needed for a normal Kiss album(at the time I didn't care for his 1978 solo record but there are some well written songs on there as well as on his 4 other releases). I will always favor the original band but I do also love Kiss with Eric & Tommy.

Getting shitfaced before a performance is definitely something the rest of the band shouldn't have to deal with. But Kiss isn't Kiss without Ace and Peter. The worst thing Peter Criss did in my opinion was to let his drumming skills atrophy. Yes, he never was one of the very best but in the early albums you could hear the Gene Krupa influence and his meter was usually dead on. This is something that never seems to be appreciated even among Kiss fans. No other Kiss drummer has had a fraction of the soul and natural rhythm of this guy.

As I said I do still love Kiss with Tommy & Eric but there will be nothing like the original 4. I always enjoyed his drumming & thought he was great. I don't know how true it is but I read that in the late 90's during the reunion era he had some kind of problem with his arm muscles which caused him problems. I don't think he really stopped drumming. It seemed like he was trying to make a go of it in the 80's but couldn't really catch a deal in the late 80's (he released two albums in the early 80's which flopped & he felt he was blackballed by the music industry). Those mid-late 80's bands was Peter trying to rock out once again with a band called Balls of Fire(which I thought was going to get a break but they didn't last long enough) & the Keep which I didn't know much about other than them having a typical 80's hair band look. Kiss was still going strong in the 80's as was Ace on megaforce records. I don't know why Peter couldn't get a deal unless he was holding out for more money. In the 90's he still kept trying with his band Criss & they did manage to get an album out which is really a good album & worth checking out. I really believe it had to be a problem w/ his arms in Kiss because he really kept going but just couldn't get a deal.

Just started Peter's new book. Very detailed. I'm not even 100 pages in and it's already an an awesome read.
