Re: Nick Drake

He was something of a flawed tragic genius, unique and quite brilliant, I have everything he recorded I think, though that's really only 3 exquisite albums, and some out-takes, I don't know if his short life was ever eventful enough to justify a movie bio-pic, as he was quite reclusive and had few friends, though there are at least 2 other superb documentaries I have seen, and Trevor Dann's 'Darker Than the Deepest Sea' written biography is one of the best biographies of a musician I have ever read.

I already posted 'Riverman' on YouTube once before in this thread, but it's just such a miraculous, almost life-changing song, that it bears a repeat posting...

Wow cyggy, those pictures blow me away, especially the top one of Nick's resting place in a lovely wooded graveyard bathed in sunlight, it looks a peaceful beautiful place for a person to lie at rest who didn't have much inner peace in his life - I assume that's his parents house in Warwickshire where he died/took his own life? Very lovely pictures.

Thanks for sharing Cyggy :)

Your welcome friends , myself and a close friend also went into the local church and signed the "book" , there is a plaque on the church organ in memory of Nick . A really nice quiet village not a million miles from John Bonham's resting place.

Oh I didn't know there was a thread for Nick on here. I kind of recently discovered his music (back in October) when I was listening to some Jeff and Tim Buckley, he came up as similar suggestion on last.tm. I love the song River Man, it's has got to be one of the most haunting songs I've ever heard.
