Not chicken. I just don't think the music was as good. Even the good groups started to run dry and played "safe" commercialized tunes. Band members parted ways and the rawness of the 60's thru early 70's was gone. This was the time for hair bands with mushy love songs, and metal heads singing to a bunch of angry dudes. Thankfully, the punkers made it a little interesting.

But:

Call Me -- Blondie ('80)

Bette Davis Eyes -- Kim Carnes ('81)
Under Pressure -- Queen and David Bowie

Rock the Casbah -- Clash ('82)

Time After Time -- Cyndi Lauper ('83)
Let's Dance -- David Bowie

Purple Rain -- Prince & the Revolution ('84)

Money For Nothing -- Dire Straits ('85)

Kiss -- Prince & the Revolution ('86)
Land of Confusion -- Genesis

That is a really good list Alocer, I have everyone of those songs except 99 Red Ballons,,,but I like is as well.

Flower same thing nice list and I have most of the ones on your's except Irene Cara's song and Jeffrey Osborne's.

Shadow...lol...the 80's were neither as bad as some people like to think nor as memorable as some hardcore fans feel they were. I think there were plenty of good bands and albums from that decade, after all music is always in flux and the 80's saw a massive upheaval in the music the kids wanted to hear and the end of many of the 70's bands who had become obsolete or run out of creativity.
