In memory of Jimi Hendrix!

On September 16, 1970 Jimi Hendrix joined Eric Burdon and War on stage at Ronnie Scotts in London for what would become the guitarist's last ever public appearance.

It's also interesting to note how much Eric Burdon would be involved in the "cleaning up" after Hendrix's death in the hotel.

James Marshall "Jimi" Hendrix

November 27, 1942 / September 18, 1970

On October 25, 1968.....The double album 'Electric Ladyland' by the Jimi Hendrix Experience was released. It was also made available as two albums with changed artwork after complaints about the naked women who were pictured on the sleeve. The female models were each paid £5 for the photo shoot and another £5 if they posed completely naked.

Stone Free (Live Filmore Jan. 1st 1970)

Just a brief explanation concerning the visuals in the posted video. The video itself is from the Newport 1969 Jazz Festival, but since there is no known footage of "Stone Free" from the the Filmore concert, the poster dubbed the audio over the Newport footage.

Nevertheless, it's an amazing performance. Close your eyes and listen. :grinthumb

Jimi Hendrix live on the LuLu Show, January 4th 1969. This showing by the JHE apparently pissed off the BBC execs because of the improv. move from the song "Hey Joe" to "Sunshine" without warning..at the end of the tune you hear Hendrix say "We are being put off the air"

Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)
Hey Joe
(partial) Sunshine of Your Love: Dedicated to Cream
