Godsmack (Official Thread)

It surprises me that with the amount of fans i've seen here in terms of this band, that we don't have a thread for them yet. Well...luckily i'm in a thread creating mood. Godsmack are a Heavy Metal band who I recently just saw at the Mayhem Festival that came through Seattle. Easily one of the best performances of a band i've seen this year. And also one of the biggest surprises in terms of being excited about a bands performance. Lead by Sully Erna, they've released a total of 5 albums, most recently The Oracle in 2010. Give em a listen.

I like Godsmack. I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan, but I do like a number of their songs. The first song of theirs that I ever heard was Whatever. That song just kinda grabbed me and I've been sorta following their career since. IMHO, one of the best bands to come out over the past 12-15 years.



Used to love playing this song when I was DJ'ing, great tune to crank up

^Voodoo is an incredible album. It takes like...2nd or 3rd in terms of favorites for me. The Oracle has made it to 1st for so many reasons. Awake is a great album as well:

I don't have The Oracle yet. Only thing I have is one song... Cryin' Like A Bitch



Which is a pretty cool rockin' tune! Definitely a song that can get ya hyped up (well for me anyway)

A lot of great songs off the album, my favorite is actually the last track "The Oracle", its a great closer to the album:

Another tune that really sold me on the band is when I first saw The Scorpion King and this song was on the soundtrack. I Stand Alone was also on the video game which I had on the gamecube, so I really got into it.

I've got all their albums...never understood why some people give them so much "stick", they are a fun heavy metal band. Haven't listened to them for ages...I'll remedy that tomorrow.

Like Lynch...I picked up on GODSMACK after "I stand alone" on the Scorpion king soundtrack . I remember looking closely on the final credits to see who it was, bit of a classic Metallica feel to them at times. Not got any of their albums as yet.......what do you guys suggest is GODSMACKs finest to date?
