^^Sorry you feel that way, every Parsons album I own has one instrumental...and I would miss it if they weren't there.
Pointless....millions of fans disagree with your condemnation and when I stop to think about it, bands like the Alan Parsons Project are by far in the minority when it comes to rock music. I enjoy the lush textures, the classical instrumentation, the fabulous production quality, the stellar guest musicians and the whole finished product that we end up with.
I had to register on this forum just to comment on this awesome band.
APP have so many great songs, it's hard to choose a favorite, or even a favorite album. If pressed, I might have to go with "I Robot" because of how strong most of the songs are.
I Robot
I Wouldn't Want To Be Like You
Some Other Time
Breakdown
Don't Let It Show
All of these are solid songs with "Some Other Time" probably being the best...or at least my favorite.
My favorite songs from APP keep changing throughout the years but usually include:
Shadow Of A Lonely Man
Time
Old And Wise
Limelight
Games People Play
Some Other Time
To One In Paradise
Since The Last Goodbye
I don't recall anyone mentioning Vulture Culture so I'll leave you with my favorite song off that album.
I have just discovered a fantastic instrumental piano tune called Elsie's Theme form the lost Sicilian Defence recordings. I am totally blown away by this wonderful piece of music and i can't understand why Alan don't want to release it!
It could be that he was still feuding with Eric Woolfson Mick, they had a parting of ways years ago and there are probably a few great pieces of music in the vaults waiting for the finishing touch.
Perhaps now that Eric has passed away and they patched things up before he died Alan will dust off the archives and put together some good material they kept back and release it as a tribute to Eric, that would be a nice gesture.
Oh, i am sorry to hear about the feud...i never knew they had one. Was this feud about Eric wanting to go "Musical" and Alan more towards " Ambient" maybe?
Anyway, thanx for the anwer and lets hope Alan will take the forgotten tapes and do something great with them.
