^^ Agreed and Thin Lizzy were one of the best twin lead guitar bands ever they have influenced plenty of next generation heavy rock/metal outfits and Phil was a brilliant lyricist cited by many a songwriter as an inspiration. They are worthy IMO.

Your'e dead right as well CH I'm gonna do some shuffling on mine.:grinthumb:grinthumb

I had to do that more than once to squeeze in some people. I gave the ax to poor James Brown just so I could add Journey since they deserve so much more credit than they get. :D

They influenced bands like Metallica enough where they covered them! :D

Not just Metallica but I also Megadeth and Anthrax. Now I don't know about Slayer but that's at least three out of the Big Four. I'd say that's a pretty big deal. ;)

Oh I agree with that hands down. It's even exhibited perfectly in their signature song, "The Boys Are Back In Town".

To my knowlege they weren't as influential or succesful as bands like Red Hot Chilli Peppers or the velvet underground or sex pistols or blondie or genesis or GnR and many others

Influenced countless bands. Velvet Underground was not even a succesful band. IDK anyone who has listed Red Hot Chili Peppers, but they were original at one time. They are succesful, but Thin Lizzy had a huge affect on music. One of my favorite bands Mastodon was influenced by them and covered them.

Thin Lizzy are one of the most imporant bands in metal.
